
Dr Laura Surmon is a female GP who has completed the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and comes with a wealth of varied life experience and training. Laura has qualifications and experience in veterinary and medical sciences, extensive research and clinical experience including a PhD as a scientist working in preeclampsia research and as a scientist in reproductive technology [Infertility and IVF scientist]. Laura has also played a significant role in the education and training of future medical practitioners, working as an academic in medical education in Sydney and now at University of Notre Dame, Fremantle.
Originally from Sydney, Laura made the move to WA in 2021 and loves her new home. Outside of work, Laura enjoys running and can often be found spending time enjoying the outdoors with her partner and their 5 children.
As a General Practitioner, Dr Surmon is passionate about wholistic, individualistic and compassionate care for her patients. She firmly believes that the doctor-patient relationship is a partnership and collaboration, striving to empower her patients in their own health care in order to achieve the best health outcomes.
